This is the Singercraft Rug Guide No. 2 which was originally sold in Singer Sewing Center as a tool for making rugs or making embellishing trims.


{Sidenote: If you own an original Singer Fashion Aids Attachments Case, like the one above, there is a long front compartment that was designed to hold the Singercraft!}


 This will work on any sewing machine... Singer 15, 66, 99, 101, 127, 128, 185, 201, 221, 222, 206, 237, 301, 327, 328, 401, 403, 500, 600, 700, etc... and the list goes on and on - it doesn't even matter if you have a low, high, vertical, slant, side or back attaching shank - this Fashion Aid will work with your sewing machine! Even if you have another brand or model - this Fashion Aid will accommodate your sewing as well.





If you are a yarn fanatic and invest lots of time in creating your own homespuns, this would be a wonderful addition in putting your specialty yarncraft work to everyday use.

















The rug below is an original Singer rug created at a Singer Sewing Center to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Singer Manufacturing Company ~ 1851 - 1951.



This vintage wool yarn rug was made using a Singercraft Rug Guide -- one row at a time adding colors according to the design. Lovely, isn’t it!?

But, don't feel limited to rugs for this Fashion Aid!  Quite frankly, this next application seems to be the most versatile for many genres of crafting... Remove the Cutting Blade and use bias tape, rick rack, sequins, ribbon, lace, paper and more! If you use a unique trim, send us an e-mail -- we would surely enjoy seeing other creations made by this old Singer tool.

I used a narrow bias tape to make a pretty accent trim on a blouse for my daughter.  (The yellow rick rack was a fun embellishment using a different old Singer Attachment.  You can read more about it here.)
