Box Condition varies with each Pinker and may or may not be available with all Hand Crank Pinkers we have in stock.  Contact us for further details and availability.

Available to you is a SINGER Hand Operated Pinking Machine, and yes, this will actually cut through paper, fabric & leather!

Scrapbookers, Seamstresses, and Upholsterers ~
this unit is appropriate for any sewing or crafting hobby.

I've been using my personal pinker for quite some time now using all three different mediums and have not once compromised the blade. Know why? Because it's actually the pressure of the blade meeting against a steel disk that cuts through the paper, fabric or leather, not just the blade itself. Believe me, after examining every piece of this gadget (had mine completely apart), the Singer Pinker is an engineering marvel!

Pinker is in excellent condition with minimal use.

Everything is complete and original including the cutting guide, thumbscrew and marking arrow.

A C-Clamp is of necessity for the Pinker to work properly because it needs to be securely fastened to a table for the crank to turn freely without the pinker shifting.  If you have a thicker table or surface than the original c-clamp allows, most any new hardware c-clamps will work - just get a larger size.

Shown here is an vintage Singer c-clamp originally supplied with all Hand Crank Pinkers and were often misplaced over time.  It is also the exact same style c-clamp that was supplied originally with the Child’s Singer Sewhandy.

If we have a Singer Hand Crank Pinker in stock, either an original c-clamp will be included with purchase or a like-sized new one will be supplied - based on stock availability.

The larger ‘swell’ blade or disk is original and is included.

The small scallop-edged blade (the most scarce to find) and the straight-edged blade were far less common and not originally supplied with each Singer Pinker.  A customer had to specifically make a request and place a special order through their Singer Sewing Center which was supplied by the Singer Manufacturing Company.

SINGER Hand Crank Pinker with Original Blade

Traditional Scallop Blade

On fabric and paper it creates a rounded or scalloped, pinked edge.  Quite the ‘old’ technology to cut a running length of fabric rather quickly! Traditional scissor-style pinking shears are heavy, slow, can be tiring to the hands (arthritis, anyone?) and creates sharp, angled edges. This unit will give you more of a soft scallop or rick rack edge, so-to-speak.

I love it! My mind is always thinking of new ideas - felt books, Christmas ornaments, stationery or gift cards, or I’ve even read about using the pinker to make little tiny strips of fabric to replicate grass for Easter baskets!  Regardless, cutting strips of fabric or paper is easy and fun - for those of you with small children - you needn’t worry, my daughter loves to ‘play’ with the old Singer Pinker and has done so for a several years now, actually.  It certainly gives her something fun to do while Mama is sewing!

If you don’t own a serger, but you need to trim an inside seam, the pinker can be a very practical and useful tool.  I needed to cut extra close to the seam line before turning fabric section right-side out.  The Singer Pinker came in very handy!

Because it is the pressure of the blade (not sharp) to the disk and not the sharpness, all mediums can be cut with proper adjustment - fabric, paper or leather, interchangeably.
