ORIGINAL Singer Collapsible Portable Electric IRON with Wooden Handle

SINGER Durabilt iron is in lovely, shiny condition.
Looks like it was minimally used and then saved away all these years later.
Cloth cord is in excellent condition.

Included with the Singer Iron will be a free pattern to sew a Heat-Resistant Iron Bag.

Compact - yet very "dura"ble!  This iron does work and adjusts the heat temperature appropriately - ironing quite well.  However, because it is a vintage electrical appliance, the iron must be sold as a display piece only.





Did you know that Singer acquired "Durabilt" Iron Manufacturing? Singer purchased the Durabilt Company in the 1940s. Actually, it was pretty common for Singer to contract with outside companies to make and produce things with the Singer logo.

Iron collapses for portability and will stow nicely in your Featherweight case.  Just be sure to sew an iron bag so as not to mar the finish of your iron or scratch your machine. This will be much fun to show-n-tell at your next Quilt Class, don’t you think?!
