How To Pack and Ship a Featherweight 221 or 222K
(for safe transit and delivery)

Simply Follow These Step-by-Step Photo Instructions

1.)  Remove Spool Pin; Replace Screw and Wrap Separately.

2.)  Using "Large-Head" Screwdriver, Unscrew Bobbin Winder & Wrap Separately
 

If you are unable to unscrew the bobbin winder without marring the machine then make sure it is pushed ALL the way down pressing against the belt of the machine
 

3.)  Lower Presser Bar

4.)  TIGHTEN Motor to Machine

5.)  Bubblewrap between Bed & Face Plate

6.)  Wrap Foot Pedal

7.)  Place WRAPPED Foot Pedal inside machine

8.)    Bubblewrap Machine carefully.

9.)    Pack Machine & Case separately if space warrants.

10.)   Wrap ANY & ALL loose items. There is to be no movement in case - even if tipped upside down.

11.) Carefully place WRAPPED machine inside case. Make sure there is NO MOVEMENT in any direction.

12.) If there is a top tray, wrap it separately

13.)   Wrap and Place in Large Box making sure there is about 4 inches of padding on ALL SIDES.

14.)   Pack it firmly! Peanuts can settle in shipment, so be sure there is ZERO MOVEMENT heard or felt when box is completely packed and sealed.  If you hear movement, open it up and add more padding.  You can use padding other than peanuts, but again, there must be ZERO movement and plenty of space between machine and box.
